We are pleased to announce a unique fundraising program that not only helps birds but helps kids as well. We appreciate that raising funds is not easy and schools struggle with having sufficient funds for school programs, supplies, and projects. At the same time, there is an epidemic of abused, unwanted and abandoned birds in our country. The potential life span of the larger species of parrot is between 50 to 80 years with some birds living to 100 years of age! Funds are needed to properly care for these birds for their long lifetime.

Our Kids Helping Birds Helping Kids Program will partner a school with a non-profit avian organization and the funds raised on calendars sold by the students will be shared equally with the school and the avian organization. Our Parrots At Play Calendar sells for $15 and $10 of that is the donation amount. The fundraising potential on just 250 calendars is $2,500!! Half of that amount or $1,250 would go to the school and half to the avian organization.

The bottom inside lip of the calendar will be personalized for the school and the avian organization. See sample below:

What's needed to get this program in place?

A commitment letter signed by an authorized person for the school and an authorized person for the non-profit avian organization. Signed commitment letters must be received by Parrots At Play Program, P O Box 943 , Lakeville , MA 02347 by the end of May.

On the Commitment Letter a fundraising goal is chosen:

A) 250 calendars @ $15 per calendar = $3,750 less cost of $5 per calendar, $1,250, provides funds of $2,500 – half to the school and half to the avian organization.

B) 500 calendars @ $15 per calendar = $7,500 less cost of $5 per calendar, $2,500, provides funds of $5,000 – half to the school and half to the avian organization.

C) 750 calendars @ $15 per calendar = $11,250 less cost of $5 per calendar, $3,750, provides funds of $7,500 – half to the school and half to the avian organization.

Calendars will be provided in September at no up front cost to the school. Shipping costs will be absorbed by the Parrots At Play Program. Fundraising period is October to December. The cost for calendars delivered ($5 per calendar) is due and payable by the school to the Parrots At Play Program no later than December 15 th .

What if all the calendars are not sold?

The funds raised will be less than the goal. For example, if Goal A is chosen (250 calendars) and only 200 calendars are sold the fundraising results would be:

200 calendars sold @ $15 ea = $3,000 (gross receipts)

Less 250 calendars @ $5 ea = 1,250 (payable to Parrots At Play Program)

Total funds raised $1,750

half to the school $875

half to the avian organization $875

Our expression of appreciation to the students:

Students who sell 3 or more calendars will receive a very special Certificate of Appreciation suitable for framing. The artwork was created by Peter Menice, www.petermenice.com, exclusively for our program.
